1.12.1. Competences / Results of the training and learning outcomes
CON2 To master the Spanish language across a wide variety of oral and written registers.
CON3 To attain a B1 level, according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for Languages, in a second foreign language.
CON4 To become familiar with the foundations of the disciplines encompassed within the field of 'English Studies': the study of the English language, as well as the literature and culture of English-speaking countries.
CON5 To recognise different types of discourse in English, their structure, linguistic and stylistic conventions, and their socio-cultural contexts.
CON11 To understand the complexity of the nature of language and literature and their relationship with other disciplines and forms of knowledge, as well as the influence of social and cultural contexts in the nature of language and meaning.
HAB1: To construct well-founded arguments while demonstrating openness to the exchange of concepts and ideas related to the English language, linguistics, literature, and culture.
HAB2: To progressively develop autonomy in the learning process by becoming aware of the need for a proactive attitude towards knowledge in the field of English Philology.

Introduction to the grammatical categories of Spanish and its functions/ An introduction to grammatical categories and their functions in Spanish
Item 1. Basic concepts of syntax. Grammatical categories and syntagmatic categories. Preached, arguments and attachments. Syntactic functions and semantic functions.
Item 2. The name and the nominal syntagma.
Item 3. Pronouns and determinants.
Item 4. Adjective and adjective syntagma.
Item 5. Adverbs, prepositions and conjunctions.
Item 6. The verb. The verbal bending. Non-personal forms.
